Day 7 - Cleanse Phase


Have you tried eating strawberries and pineapple.....DELICIOUS! If you need to satisfy a sweet toothe eat this....with protein of course :-)

We are getting closer! 10 days....you can do it. By now you have all proved to yourself that you can do this, continue to remind yourself why you signed up for this program.

Day 6 - Cleanse Phase

You have all done amazing, the 24 Day Challenge is proving early on to work and I am excited to see your results as we continue. Remember the keys to success on this program are:

-Post your food logs daily on the blog (and now include total calories - good websites are: caloriecount.com , livestrong.com , sparkpeople.com )
-Ask questions you may have on the blog
-Read the posts and comments daily on the blog
-Follow the nutrition instructions exactly as they are explained
-Follow the Advocare supplements exactly as they are prescribed (balance protein, carbs and fats at each meal and eat your basal metabolic rate - bodyweight x 10)
-Have fun with it, stay focused and keep coming to the meetings - remember our next meeting will be Tuesday at 7pm

Day 5 - Cleanse Phase


This is what I eat for breakfast everyday....delicious! (5 eggs (2 yolks), 1 sweet potato and 1/2 small avocado or 1/4 large avocado)

WE HAVE A MEETING TONIGHT AT 7PM. You do not want to miss this meeting, attending the weekly meetings are a critical part of your success. We will start at 7pm sharp!

Remember to read the comments, look at the feedback I write for other people because it might also be something you need to do.

Day 4 - Cleanse Phase


Here's a little concauction I made up when I was a kid and it is actually easy to make and "cleanse friendly". You have to have a taste for this because it is weird to some people, but I love it! This is diced tomatoes, fresh squeezed lime juice and a little bit of salt. You can eat it with chicken or fish, kind of like a salad. Let me know if you try it out! (add some cilantro, jalepenos and diced onions to make a fresh pico)

I hope you all survived the weekend, thank you to those of you who posted and looked at the blog through out the weekend. Let's get this week started off right, you all made it through the hardest part of the cleanse - the 1st weekend. Get through this week and you are almost there!

Remember that tomorrow, Tuesday, we have our meeting at 7pm, you do not want to miss it. I will be going over new information and a new assignment for the cleanse.

Day 3 - Cleanse Phase


If you haven't been eating asparagus you are missing out!

I am seeing a lot of posts and that is GREAT! Remember that a determining factor of how successful you are on this 24 day challenge is how often you look at this blog and whether or not you post what you eat. Keep it up everyone!

Today is Sunday, if you wish to start the week off right tomorrow then you must commit time today planning out what you intend to eat this week. I recommend you all do some shopping, cooking and planning. Just like the video I posted with Marcos and Will, pack up your food in ready to go containers. Most of you have very demanding schedules and will be extremely busy once the alarm goes off Monday morning so take advantage of today and plan out your week. If you do this post it on the blog and let us all know!

I am doing this program to learn how to eat more healthy. I have a major addiction to sweets, so my main goal is to get through this challenge without cheating!

Day 2 - Cleanse Phase


Sweet potatoes or yams are awesome, bake them for about an hour at 450 degrees and enjoy!

The true test is here - the weekend! Cheating is NOT AN OPTION, you WILL be successful on this 24 day challenge. Remember to resist temptation and have healthy foods available. If you get hungry and are tempted for junk then go for a walk or a run, just move, do anything to get your mind off of that craving.

Make sure you post your food journals for yesterday on yesterdays post, check the comment link for answered questions and recipe ideas. Aim to eat every 3-4 hours and eat enough.

I was very active all throughout high school (I played volleyball for 8 years), and after getting hurt my senior year my activity level definitely was not the same. I came into college 10 pounds lighter than I am now, and I want to get back down to that! I hope to lose weight, eat better, and not cheat for the next 24 days!

Day 1 - Cleanse Phase


This is the way I marinate my chicken, I grill an entire tray at a time so it lasts me 4-5 days. I marinate it with onion powder, pepper, garlic and olive oil.

The calm before the storm....

Today is the day before "Day 1" of the cleanse, you should all be going to the grocery store and getting mentally prepared for the next 10 days. This does not mean go to your favorite restaurant tonight and chow down :-)

Grocery List


Two of the trainers on our team, Will and Marcos, made this video to show you how simple it is to prepare a weeks worth of meals in just a couple hours for less than $100 bucks! Watch this video!

Here is a sample grocery list of what I would suggest you purchase in preparation for the next 10 days:

-boneless, skinless chicken breast (not seasoned)
-salmon (not seasoned)
-ground turkey
-eggs
-raw broccoli
-bell peppers
-zucchini
-squash
-baby carrots
-baby spinach
-salad
-onions
-cilantro
-limes
-lemons
-avocado
-tomatoes
-natural herbs for seasoning (such as basil and rosemary)
-apples
-oranges
-berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
-raw nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts)
-natural almond butter
-olive oil pam
